Another interesting fact is related to rainbows. There are a lot of rainbows which can be seen in this town, but the main things to look out for are the ghostly moon bows which occur at night.
Wailuku is basically a line of villages of small size which are situated near the West Maui Mountains. The whole of Wailuku includes the Wailuku town, Waihe'e, Waiehu, Waikapu, and Ma'alaea. In the ancient times, there were two temples which had the responsibility of guarding and protecting Wailuku. These temples are still there, and when you go to the top you can have a fantastic view of the whole of the city itself, as well as the country side. It was in Wailuku that a number of famous citizens of Maui were born. These famous citizens include Jesse Kuhaulua, who is a sumo champion and is also known as Takamiyama, as well as Keopuolani, who was a wife of Kamehameha the Great, and the most sacred of all his wives.
Around two hundred years ago, a battle was fought at the Iao Valley. This battle is ranked among the most famous battles of the history of Hawaii. It was in this battle that the island of Maui was conquered by Kamehameha the Great, and as a result he added this island to all the other areas of Hawaii which he had previously conquered.
